The name of the Mexican organization NACPEC stands for North American Consumer Project on Electronic Commerce. Its main goal was to supply useful on-line information sources in the field of e-commerce. The information would be provided for consumers in North America.
NACPEC Mission
There are two main goals in the organization's mission, one is the current and future needs of different groups of consumers, practitioners in law that are associated to all sides of e-commerce influenced by the regulatory affairs performed by the government and its consumer legislation throughout the areas of North America and Europe.
The second goal is related to the fact that the
organization needs to increase the awareness of consumers using its official
website that serves as the pre-eminent educational and informational
instrument. NACPEC website represents a useful source where
people can find information regarding e-commerce. The organization also
supports consumer protection on the Internet so to promote the expansion of the
B2C global marketplace.
NACPEC Orientation
The Mexican organization is oriented towards consumers, consumer organizations, students and academics from around the world, as well as consumer security and enforcement agencies. NACPEC looks forward to help them get a better view on the regulatory features that administer cross-border transactions performed via Internet. On both regional and multilateral levels it also focuses on government, industry, civil society and consumer groups, having the goal of facilitating their studies and analysis of problems regarding consumer protection on e-commerce.
Using its official website, besides raising the
awareness of policy issues impacting consumers the organization supplies both
national and international policy makers with the necessary information that
could help them take correct decisions in order to protect consumers and
