Times and Sunday Times: The Number of Visitors Decreased by Two Times After the Introduction of Paid Subscription
Traffic Times and The Sunday Times publications has decreased almost by half, three months of the subscription fee to access the content, according to research conducted by Nielsen Company. According to estimates made by Nielsen, two publications have been an estimated 362,000 paying readers.
Nielsen estimated that about 1.78 million unique users in the UK and visited homepages of thetimes.co.uk sundaytimes.co.uk, suggesting that only 20% of readers are paying subscribers.
Traffic on the main pages of both publications decreased by almost 43% and story sites traffic fell by over 88%, when News International, which owns both publications, has decided to charge users for the pound sterling access to online content for a day and two pounds for access to news of the two sites for a week.
The Nielsen figures include the traffic generated by users who have received temporary access to online content of the two sites, with the trial license type. Nielsen did not calculate how many users have complied with those licenses free.
